Dinner for Two TV Show Tells Story of Love and Lost

Published

on

How do you mend a broken heart? TV One‘s new original film, DINNER FOR TWO, poignantly illustrates that it can be a long journey from love lost to acceptance. Premiering Sunday, September 2 at 7p.m. ET/6C, with an encore at 9 p.m. ET/8C on TV One, this complex love story stars R&B heartthrob and actor Tristan ‘Mack’ Wilds (“The Wire”, “90210”), and rising star Chaley Rose(“Nashville”).

DINNER FOR TWO stars Wilds as Chris Moore, a man trying to come to terms with true love lost, playing opposite Rose as his beloved Angela. When his soul mate, Angela, leaves him, his life becomes a complicated mess. Now he is facing a major decision about his future, and drinking heavily, as he can’t seem to move past mourning the relationship. Broken-hearted, Chris prepares a favorite meal that he and Angela shared on many romantic evenings together. As he breaks bread with the love of his life for perhaps the last time, he revisits what made him fall for her in the first place.

“We’re thrilled to be able to showcase the talents of the multi-talented Tristan Wilds and up-and-comer Chaley Rose, whose acting skills seamlessly bring this emotional and intricate script to life,” says Robyn Greene Arrington, Head of Programming for TV One. “Their natural chemistry lends itself to the story, offering viewers the chance to get lost in this relatable narrative of love and loss.”

“What drew me to this film is how much heart the script had,” said Wilds, who also serves as executive producer. “It helps you understand that through all types of obstacles, love conquers all.”

DINNER FOR TWO is the newest addition to TV One’s successful slate of acclaimed original films that range from dramas, comedies, biopics and more. Programming includes TV One’s highest-rated original film When Love Kills, which reached 4.9mm unique viewers and was #1 in African-American households in its time period, and Bobbi Kristina, the #3 highest rated TV One film reaching 3.2 mm unique viewers and was the #1 cable telecast in African-American households premiere weekend.

DINNER FOR TWO is written and directed by Orlando Bishop and produced by Swirl Films. Tristan “Mack” Wilds and Eric Tomosunas of Swirl Films serve as executive producers. Also serving as producers are Nicole Dow, Bishop’s producing partner, and Keith Neal, James Seppelfrick, Ron Robinson, and Darien Baldwin of Swirl Films. 95-Year Old Actress Cicely Tyson Says She Refuses to Retire

Published

on

Nationwide — Cicely Tyson, one of the most iconic actresses of our time, has just turned 95-years old. But despite her age, she says she will never ever retire from her decades-long career.

Tyson was the cover star for Time Magazine’s latest “The Art of Optimism” special issue. During her interview, she revealed that she has no plans to retire from Hollywood.

“The reason why I have been in this universe as long as I have been is because he’s not ready for me,” said Tyson. “When I’ve completed my job, he’ll take me away. I know several people who have retired and then six months later, they’re gone.”

Since the 1960’s, Tyson has been gracing both the film and television screens and making an impact as a Black woman. She paved the way for more representation of Black women in Hollywood.

Throughout her career, she has won a number of prestigious awards including Emmys and a Tony and was nominated for Academy Awards for her role in the 1972 film Sounder. Among some of her works, she has appeared in two Tyler Perry movies, was part of the Roots miniseries, and had a small role in the Oscar-nominated movie The Help.

Now, she plays a recurring character in How to Get Away With Murder as the mother of the main character Annalise Keating, portrayed by Viola Davis. And she is far from retiring.

“We have to honor this blessed gift that we have. That’s what keeps you going. Keeps your mind fluid — your heart, your whole being. You can’t just stop, because that will be the end of you.”
